Certainly in my history in the city of Tunis, so I came to Seville, and between them is a three-month journey for the caravan, a person met me who did not know me, and he called me by virtue of the agreement those same verses, and I did not write them to anyone. With this long distance, I said to him, Who did I sing to you until I memorized them? He said to me, I was sitting on a night in the east of Seville in a gathering of a group on the road. A strange man we did not know passed by us as if he was a tourist. He sat down to us and talked with us. Then we sang these verses, so we approved them and wrote them. And he named me to them, so we told him, This is Ibn Muthanna s cabin, we don t know it in our country. He said, It is in the east of the Mosque of Tunis, and there he worked at this hour, and I memorized it from him.

We saw him, and I was at the Udays Mosque in Seville one day after the afternoon prayer, and a person mentioned to me about an old man of the people of the path, one of their greatest, who met him in Khurasan, and he mentioned to me his virtue. He met us in Khurasan, and I said to the informant man, This is the man you saw in Khurasan, do you know his description? He said, Yes. So I took the name of him for the effects that were in him and the ornament in his creation. The man said, He is, by God, in the image of what I described. Have you seen him? I only looked at him and he introduced himself to me, and he was still sitting with me until I left, so I sought him, but I could not find him. As for the verses that he sang for me, they are these.

Ibn Muthanna's cabin *** I became meaningless

Shaden Tunisian *** Sweet to what he wishes

I took off my virgins *** and the body became exhausted

I asked Al-Wasl when *** I saw him reaping

And he shook his neck in astonishment *** Like a branch when it bends

And he said, You are a stranger *** to you, who is this about us

So I melted with longing and despair *** and died with grief and sorrow

And this boy is called Ahmad ibn al-Idrisi, one of the merchants of the country. His father was a righteous young man who loved the righteous and sat with them, may God grant him success. This council was between me and him in the year five hundred and ninety, and we are now in the year six hundred and thirty-five and in it there is knowledge of what is praised from the argument and what is slandered from it, and a Muslim should not belong to those who belong to God is not allowed to argue except in that in which he is right, from disclosure, not from thought and consideration. He despairs of the acceptance of his listeners, so let him remain silent and do not argue. If he argues, he seeks to destroy the listeners with God, and in it is the knowledge of man s saying, I am a believer, God willing with his knowledge in himself at that time that he is a believer. In it is the position that God placed it in. If he transgresses him and does not stand by him, he misbehaves with God and his request does not succeed, and in it there is the knowledge of something that reminds you of the matter that you had known and then forgot, and in it there is the knowledge of the increase in time and the decrease. Why will you return?

And what should be taken from that in the legal ruling, is it the least of what is called the name of the month or more, and in it there is a knowledge of preferring the company of God s people over those who are unaware of God, even if faith includes them, and in it there is a knowledge of what the Majesty of God should deal with, whether the world pleases or displeases him, and in it is the knowledge of water, which is a science It is strange, and what is the limit of irrigation from it in the water that is irrigated from the water that is irrigated, for there is from the water what is irrigated and from it is what is not irrigated and what is the water from which God made every living thing. Adam with humiliation, he said, We created man from a humiliating water, and in it there is knowledge, a sign of whom God has made happy from those who made him miserable in the life of this world, and in it there is knowledge of what the world is in itself and what its life is and what its adornment, and in it there is knowledge of what remains and what perishes and what accepts annihilation from the world and what accepts survival and in it is the knowledge of the image of encompassing what is not. What is finite and what is infinite cannot be described as being surrounded by it, because it is impossible to enter it into existence and in it is knowledge of the conditions of the jinn and assigning the truth to them with the laws revealed by Him. in action
