The straight path, which is the self’s witness to its annihilation or its continuation if it neglects. She said, “Guide us to the straight path,” so she was presented with her saying, “The straight path,” two crooked paths, which is the path of claim, and a straight path, which is monotheism. So she had no distinction between the two paths except according to those who walked on them, so she saw her Lord walking on the straight path, so she recognized him by him, and she looked at herself and found between her and Her Lord, who is the soul, is close in gentleness, and she looked at the crooked one in the world of composition, for that is what she said, “The path of those upon whom You have bestowed blessings,” and this is her world, which is connected to it, and the complex is angry at it, and those separated from it are astray from it, as they look at the one connected to it, who is angry at it. So she stood at the head of the two paths and saw the end of the crooked being destruction, and the end of the straight one being salvation, and she knew that her world was following her. Where she walked, when she wanted to walk in the straight path and to seclude herself in the presence of her Lord, and that was for her and for herself, by saying, “Behold, We worship,” she was unable and fell short of it, so she asked for help by saying, “Beware, We seek help.” Then her Lord alerted her to guide us, and she woke up and said, “Guide us,” and she described what she saw by saying the straight path, which is knowing yourself. The author of Al-Mawaqif said, “There is no effect.” For information, and he said, “When you perished therein, you are on the path of those whom You have bestowed.”
