Our doctrine is that all people, whether believer, disbeliever, or hypocrite, are accountable and will be addressed by the principles of the Sharia and its branches, and that they will be held accountable on the Day of Resurrection for the principles and branches. This is why the hypocrite was in the lowest level of Hell, and he is the interior of the Fire. And the hypocrite is tormented by the fire that reaches the hearts, since he brought in this world the apparent form of the legitimate ruling, such as uttering the testimony and displaying the belief [Page 336 of the Cairo edition] of the Messengers and apparent deeds, and not having within them an atom’s weight of faith. Thus, they were distinguished from the infidels, and it was said about them that they are hypocrites. He said: Indeed, (Allah will gather) the hypocrites and the disbelievers in Hell all together, so mention the abode, for the hypocrites will be tormented at the bottom of Hell, and the disbelievers will have a torment at the top and the bottom. < H3 style="color: rgb(255, 0, 0);">[ The torment in Hell has levels and levels ] God has arranged levels and levels of torment in the fire of Hell for specific actions with specific parts on a known scale that he does not exceed.
