The most sacred is what the divinity gives, since the new has no power to carry the beauty of the ancient, just as rivers have no power to carry the seas, for the seas annihilate their objects, whether they come upon it or [Page 78 of the Cairo edition] come upon it, I mean the sea. There is no trace left of it that testifies or distinguishes, so know what We mentioned it, and it was verified, and the highest of what is similar to it of created things is the aerosol in which He created the forms of the world, then light descended from it in resemblance to it, for light is an image in aerosol, just as aerosol is a form in it, and He sent down a resemblance of light in it, the air, and water descended from it, and minerals descended from it, and wood and the like descended from it, until it comes to an end. Something that only accepts one form. If you find it, understand this until its chapter comes from this book, God willing. This lost truth, which includes lost truths, is the most general type that deserves the alif and lam to be burdened with itself, as well as their covenant of the flow of their truth in the knowledge of what the covenant occurred between those who exist. According to which two existents entered into a matter that existed between them on the part of each of them, with regard to a third matter, they were for the covenant of that third matter that they know, and in their reality, the alif is for taking the covenant and the lam is for the one who takes it upon it, and likewise their definition and specification, they only designate something of its kind according to the specification.
