When the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, was asked about the description of his Lord, and Surat Al-Ikhlas was revealed, I was freed from sharing with others, God Almighty, those holy attributes and descriptions. There is nothing that he denied in this Surah, nor did I confirm it except, and that which is denied or affirmed is a statement about God to some people, and after we have explained to you. What should be the one whom we lack, which is God, Glory be to Him. Let us explain what we have been led to. Know that the relation of eternity to God is the relation of time to us, and the relation of eternity is a negative adjective that has no meaning, so there is no existence of this reality, so time to the possible is a relation that is imagined to exist and does not exist, because everything is. If you impose it, it is correct to ask about when, and when to ask about time, then time must be an imaginary matter, not an existence, and that is why the truth applied it to itself in His saying, “And God is All-Knowing, and to God belongs the matter before and after.” And in the Sunnah, the statement of the questioner is stated, “Where was our Lord before He created?” His creation, and if time were an existential matter in itself, it would not have been valid for the truth to be free from restriction, since the rule of time restricted it. So we know that these formulas have an existential matter underneath them [ Time: its meaning and meaning ] Then we say that people differed in the word time regarding its meaning and meaning, so the wise use it in relation to different matters
