He is the one who was good to me and it is known that it is him, so it is said to him that he will return with you to his previous behavior of benevolence to you, and in his form he has not changed, but he has changed and you must do it with you. God presented this to Moses, peace be upon him, as a prelude to what He previously knew, Glory be to Him, that witches appear to his eyes like this, so he had knowledge. This is so that he would not be astonished or afraid if he fell from them when they were throwing their ropes and sticks. It appeared to Moses [page 235 of the Cairo edition] that he was running. He would say to him, “Do not be afraid. If you saw that from them, he would strengthen his courage.” When the sorcerers happened, what God mentioned to us in his book happened, and he was filled with fear. The valley was filled with their ropes and sticks, and Moses saw them as snakes running about him, so the fear of Moses was felt in himself, and the fear to him at this time was not related to the first fear, for the first fear was from the serpent, so he turned away and did not react until God Almighty informed him, and this was the other fear that emerged from him. to the sorcerers who were present, so that the sorcerers would not appear against him with evidence and the matter would become confusing to the people. That is why God said to him, “Do not be afraid, for you are the Most High.” And when it became clear to the sorcerers that Moses was afraid of what he saw, and they did not know what this fear was related to, i.e. anything that they knew.
