And your understanding is that the symbols and riddles are not intended for themselves, but rather they are intended for what they symbolize and for what has been enigmaticated in them and their places in the Qur’an. All of them are verses of consideration, and the warning to that is the Almighty’s saying: And those are parables We present for the people. For the parables were not intended for themselves, rather they came so that it might be known from him what they were intended for and what they were set up for. For example, like God Almighty’s saying, “He sent down water from the sky, and the valleys flowed in their capacity, and the torrent carried rising foam.” And of the things that they kindle in the fire, seeking ornaments or possessions, there is foam similar to that. God strikes truth and falsehood, then the scum swells, and it vanishes in emptiness, so He made it like falsehood, as he said, and falsehood has perished. Then he said, but as for what benefits people, it will remain on the earth. He gave him an example for the truth. Thus God gives parables, and He said, “Consider, O you who have sight.” That is, marvel and be satisfied, and express to what you intended with this definition. And indeed, in that is a lesson for those who have sight. Whoever crosses the valley when you pass it, and likewise the gesture and gesture, God Almighty said to His Prophet Zechariah, “Will you not?” Speak to the people for three days, except in symbols, that is, by pointing. Likewise, she indicated To him in the story of Maryam when she vowed to the Most Merciful that she would abstain from speaking, and for this knowledge there are men of great value regarding their secrets.
