And exaltation, which is the Almighty’s saying, “And the leg turned to the leg,” meaning the matter of this world was combined with the matter of the hereafter, and there is nothing but this world and the afterlife, and it is the praised station that is produced by tahajjud. God Almighty said, “And from the night, perform it as a voluntary prayer for you. Perhaps your Lord will raise you to a praiseworthy station. Perhaps it is an obligatory station from God.” Maude is the one He has the consequences of praise, meaning to Him all praise is due.
[ Al-Mutahajjud: What is the value of his knowledge? ]
As for the value of the knowledge of Tahajjud, it is great in value. This is because, since it did not have a divine name to rely on like all the other monuments, it was known in general terms that there was something that the authors of the monuments and antiquities had missed [Page 165 of the Cairo edition], so he asked for what it was and provided it. Looking to find out about the divine names, do they have entities or are they lineages, in order to see whether the traces return to an existential or non-existent matter? When he looked, he saw that the names are not existent objects, but rather they are lineages. He saw that the effects were based on a nihilistic matter, so Al-Muhajjid said, “The best matter is for my return to something.” A nihilistic matter, so he looked closely at that and saw himself generated from standing and sleeping. He saw sleep as the return of the soul to itself and what it seeks, and he saw standing as God’s right upon it. Since his self was composed of these two matters, he looked at the truth in terms of the essence of the right, and it became possible for him. Indeed, the truth, since it is separated from itself for its own sake.
