For him, the mind’s perception of him through the path of thought has ceased, but from what is reason, his limit is that he understands and controls what has happened to him. The Truth may grant him knowledge of it, so he understands it because it is reason, not through the path of thought. This is what we do not prevent, for this is the knowledge that the Almighty Truth grants to whomsoever He wills. His servants do not make the mind independent in perceiving them, but rather accept them, so there is no evidence or proof based on them because they are beyond the stage of the mind’s understandings. Then these subjective descriptions cannot be expressed because they are beyond representation and analogy, for there is nothing like it, for every mind has not been revealed to it. Of this knowledge, there is something that asks another mind that has been revealed to it. It is not within the power of that responsible mind to express it, and it is not possible for it to be expressed. That is why Al-Siddiq said: The inability to comprehend perception is realization. This speech has two levels, so understand. Whoever seeks God with his mind through his thought and sight is lost, but preparation to accept what is sufficient for him is sufficient for him. God grants him this, so understand. As for the power of memory, there is no way to realize knowledge of God, for it only remembers what the mind had before it knew it, then it neglected or forgot while it did not know it, so there is no way for the power to remember it, and man’s perceptions are limited to what he is a human being and what his self gives him.
