We have exhausted the statement in this chapter when we spoke about the Almighty’s saying, “Then take off your sandals from the book of plural and specification,” that is, take off the lam and the meem, leaving the alif separate from the adjectives. Then he made a distinction between the dāl, which is the book in place of the second difference, and the lam, which is the adjective in the place of the first difference, which has it. The book is read with the alif, which is the place of plural, so that the group does not imagine the speech from another group and never reaches reality. So the alif separated them and became a veil between the dāl and the lām, so the dāl wanted to reach the lām, so the alif stood up to her and said, “by me, it will arrive.” No matter how much you look at existence in its entirety and in detail, you will find monotheism accompanying it and never departing from it in the company of the one, the numbers, for the two never exist unless you add to the one something like itself, which is the two, and the three are not valid unless you add one to the two, and so on to infinity, for the one is not the number and it is the same as the number. That is, through it the number appeared, so the whole number is one. If one is less than a thousand, the name and reality of the thousand disappear.
