And the seven planets, and for this reason they made the natural age one hundred and twenty years, which is required by this ruling. If a person exceeds this period, he falls into the unknown age, even if it is from nature and does not deviate from it, but it is not within the power of his knowledge to limit it to a specific time. Just as he exceeds the natural age by a year or more, it is permissible for him to increase it. This lasts for thousands of years, and it is permissible [page 312 of the Cairo edition] for his life to be extended permanently, even if the law did not know that the duration of this abode would end, and that every soul would taste death, and he knew of the return, and he knew of the afterlife, and he knew that residing in it in the afterlife would be without end. We would not know that and what We emerge from every state of death, residence, otherworldly resurrection, other creation, paradise, bliss, hellfire, and torment with tangible eating, tangible drinking, tangible sexual intercourse, and clothing in the natural way, so God’s knowledge is broader and more complete, and the combination of reason and sense, and intellects and the tangible, is greater in power and more complete in divine perfection, so that God Almighty continues in every type of possibility.
