On the one who does not have something like this and imagines that he is in the present while he is in the past, then know that the jinn are the most ignorant of God in the natural world and imagines sitting with them about what they tell him about the events of the universes and what is happening in the world from what [Page 274 of the Cairo edition] they get from eavesdropping on the highest assembly. So their sitting person thinks that this is God’s honor in him, and no matter what they think, and that is why you never see anyone sitting with them who acquired knowledge of God from them in a single sentence. The goal of the man who is taken care of by the spirits of the jinn is that they give him knowledge of the properties of plants, stones, names, and letters, which is the knowledge of alchemy. He did not acquire from them except the knowledge that was denounced by tongues. Laws, and whoever claims to be with them and is sincere in his claim, ask him about an issue in divine knowledge. You will not find any taste in him at all. Men of God flee from their company more than they flee from people. Their companionship must inevitably occur in the soul of the one who accompanies them, arrogance over others, of course, and contempt for those who do not have it. Their company has been around for a long time, and we have seen a group of those who actually accompanied them, and proofs appeared for them of the validity of what they claimed about their company, and they were people of diligence, diligence, and worship, but on their part they did not have a shred of knowledge about God, and we saw in them.
