He has light, and that light combines with the light of sight, so he perceives what is in that dark house, some of it that God wanted to reveal to him, all or part of it. He sees it like what he sees in the daytime or with a lamp, and his companion who is with him sees nothing but darkness. Other than that, he does not see it, for that light did not appear to him until He meets with the light of his sight and repels the veil of darkness. If the matter were not as we have mentioned, the one who reveals this would be like his companion, not perceiving anything, or his companion would be like him, perceiving things. So he would either be among the people of revelation like him, or he would perceive it with the light of knowledge, for the one who reveals it would perceive it with the light of imagination just as a sleeper perceives it while his companion is awake at his side. The one who uncovers sees something like this, and if you asked the one who revealed whether you saw darkness when you were uncovered, he would say no, rather he says the spot was illuminated until you said that the sun had not set and it perceived visible objects as daylight perceived them
