The remaining third of the night in the descent of the Lord was the unseen of Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, and the unseen of this human type, for the unseen is a concealment and the night is a concealment. The abode of eternity, for the first two-thirds are gone by the presence of the remaining or other third of the night in which the truth descended, making it obligatory for it to remain as well. It is a night that is never followed by morning, so it does not go away, but moves from one state to another and from one house to another. How much does the night move from one place to another in front of the sun? Rather, it flees in front of it. So that his eye does not go away, since the light opposes the darkness and it repels it, but the power of the light is stronger, as the light repels the darkness, and the darkness does not repel the light, but rather it is the light that moves, so the darkness appears in the place where there is no eye for the light.
