On his eating in his state, or his drinking, or his conversation that is in his conversation, for that what is mentioned is general, and it is the Almighty’s saying, “And He is with you wherever you are.” So whoever’s position at that time was the state of eating, drinking, talking, playing, or whatever it was, it remains as it is [ Holding the soul accountable and paying attention to the breath ] When this venerable sect saw this difference between the natural, spiritual, and divine imports, they saw that the confusion had arisen. It has happened to those who claim to be among the men of God Almighty that they denied being characterized by ignorance and confusion, for it is the place of natural existence, so their concern rose to being preoccupied with intentions, since God had said to them, “And they were not commanded except to worship God, sincerely for Him, and sincerity is intention,” and for this reason He restricted it to His saying, and did not say sincere, which is from the conclusion. A person may be sincere in his intention for Satan and be called sincere, but there is nothing in his work for God. He may be sincere for the company, or he may be sincere for God. For this reason, God Almighty said, “Being sincere in the religion for Him, not for anyone else or for the rule of the company.” So they occupied their souls primarily in accepting deeds, attaining happiness, and agreeing to the divine request of them in the deeds He assigned them. The pure intention is for Him, which is expressed in the intention, so they attributed it to it because they were predominately occupied with it, and they realized that actions are not required.
