In other words, what he saw, so he says to him: Your vision of such-and-such indicates such-and-such, so likewise this earthly life is a dream. If he moves to the afterlife through death, nothing of what was in his hand and in his sense of home, family, and money is transferred with him, just as it was when he woke up from his sleep. He did not see anything in his hand that was his. In his vision while he sleeps, this is why God Almighty said, “We are in a dream by night and by day, and in the afterlife there will be [Page 208 of the Cairo edition]

wakefulness, and there the vision will pass. So whoever has the light of God has appointed his insight and passes through his vision here before death, he will be successful and will be.” There is a parable in it: someone who saw a vision and then saw in his vision that he woke up, then he related what he saw while he was asleep to some people whom he saw in his sleep, and he said, “I saw such and such,” and he interprets it and that person expresses it to him according to what he sees in his knowledge of that. Then, when he wakes up, it appears to him that he was still in a dream. In the case of a vision and in the case of its expression, which is the most correct expression. Likewise, the intelligent and discerning person in this house, even though he is in his dream, sees that he has woken up and expresses his vision in his dream in order to be alert and rebuke and follow the path of the lion. If he wakes up in death, he praises his vision and rejoices in his dream, and his vision has yielded good for him. For this truth is what God mentioned in this. The verse is about waking up, mentioning a dream, and adding it to us at night and day, seeking credit for it.
