So it is, then the universe appeared from the letters, and from here Al-Tirmidhi made it the knowledge of the saints, and from here he prevented the one who prevented the single letter from being created, for he saw that with divine power, there was not a single letter in creation, but rather he brought three letters, an unseen letter, and two apparent letters, since the being was one, and if it was added to one, three letters appeared. These are the sciences of these men mentioned in this chapter, and most of the men of this science made a table for that, and they made mistakes in it, but it was not correct. I do not know whether they did it with intent, to leave people blind to this knowledge, or they were ignorant of it, and the later ones followed the traditions of the earlier ones, and the student of Ja`far al-Sadiq and others said about it, and this is the table.
