Purification from impurities is purification through good morals and removing their corruption from souls. It is the purity of souls, whether you intend to do so as worship or not. If you intend worship, then virtue upon virtue and light upon light. If you do not intend it, then virtue and nothing else. Good morals are required for their own sake, and their highest status is to use them as worship by purifying them from impurities and removing impurities. Of the souls that we said are morals, we impose what is a condition for the validity of worship, for God has made it an independent worship required for its own sake. It is, like all other duties, obligatory with remembrance and void with forgetfulness. Whenever one remembers it, it is obligatory like the obligatory prayer. God Almighty said, “Establish the prayer in remembrance of Me.” Then we mention the words in the rulings related to their specific aspects, so we say < h3 style="color: rgb(255, 0, 0)">( Chapter on enumerating the types of impurities ) The scholars, may God be pleased with them, among the most prominent ones, agreed on four matters: the death of an animal with blood that is not watery, and on Pork meat, for any reason, is bound to lose its life, and the blood itself from an animal that is not watery is separated from the living or from the dead, if it [Page 379 of the Cairo edition] is spilled, I mean a lot.
