God is the Creation of the Hereafter and other things and its justice, even though they are essences with their essences, then the essences that come into existence from nothingness do not have their essences after their existence, but the forms differ in Him through the mixtures and minglings that give these forms symptoms that are exposed to them at the discretion of the Mighty, the All-Knowing. So if these forms are created [Page 313 of the Cairo edition] < p> It was like burning hashish, which is the readiness to receive souls, just as the hashish, with the fire within it, is prepared to accept ignition. The isthmusic images are like lamps, burning with the souls in it. Then Israfil blows one puff, and that blow passes over those isthmusic forms, extinguishing them. The next blow, which is the other, passes to the form that is ready to ignite, which is the other creation, and it is ignited by its souls. So, when they are standing and watching, then those images rise up alive, speaking what God speaks to them. So who speaks, “Praise be to God,” and who speaks, saying, “Who has raised us from our resting place,” and who speaks, saying, “Glory be to Him who brought us back to life after He caused us to die?” And to Him is the resurrection. And every speaker speaks according to his knowledge and what he was upon, and forgot his condition in the isthmus, and imagines that that is the case. The one in whom there was a dream as the one who was awake imagined it, and it was when he died and moved to the isthmus, he was like the one who was awake there, and that the life of this world was for him like a dream.
