The soul is in its desires, and a green death, which is the throwing of patches on one’s clothing onto one another, and a black death, which is bearing the harm of creation, or even absolute harm, and wearing patches is called a green death because its condition is the condition of the earth in that the plants and flowers in it differ, so it is similar to the discord of the patches. As for the black death, due to the possibility of harm, this entails grief for the soul. And grief is the darkness of the soul, and darkness is similar in color to blackness, and red death. Contrary to the soul is similar to the redness of blood, for whoever opposes his desires has slaughtered himself. And there will be, God willing, in this book separate chapters on the testimony of monotheism, prayer, zakat, fasting, and Hajj, which are the principles of Islam upon which it was built, and whoever wants to know of the secrets.
