According to Abu Yazid al-Bistami, the will is the abandonment of the will, and that is when he said, “I want not to will,” so he wanted to erase the will from himself, and he said this saying in the event that the will is established, then he completed it and said, “Because I am what is desired, and you who desires address the Truth.” This is because when he knew that will is related to nothingness, and what is desired is inevitable. To be non-existent and not to exist, and he saw that the possible is non-existence, even if it is characterized by existence, so he said, “I am what is meant,” meaning “I am non-existent .”
