For you have two rewards: the reward of the thankful and the reward of the patient. This is the meaning of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, changing his garments with softening while he is in ihram. If he wishes, he says, “Praise be to God, the best blessing,” and if he wishes, he says, “Praise be to God” in every situation, because the two situations are with him, so know that. You do not see his prayer, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, at your command. Indeed, praise prevailed in both cases, then he said, “And the blessing is yours,” and what he said, “and calamity is from you,” along with the apparent situation of hardship and confinement, the greatest of which is his abstaining from what he loved, which is enjoying women.
