The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, forbade it from being said “Ramadan” due to his saying, “There is nothing like it.” If it had been said, it would be an example in this name, so he added the word “month” to it so that the similarity in the months in particular would be eliminated and there would remain nothing like it of its rank in every respect.
