With what surrounded it, they extended the building with stones until the city became like the roof of a house, and they made that roof land on which they built a city greater than the one they had built first, and they built it and made it a dwelling place, but it narrowed for them, so they built on it another city, larger than it, and its building continued to increase, and they went up with the building, layer upon layer, until it reached three. Ten cities [ Kings of the Land of Truth ] Then I was away from them for a while, then I entered them again and found that they had increased two cities, one on top of the other, and they had kings who were kind. And Hanan accompanied a group of them, including the following, who is a follower, in the position of a gossip in Himyar, and I have not seen a king who mentioned God more than him. The remembrance of God distracted him from managing his kingdom. I benefited from him, and he used to sit with me a lot. Among them was Dhu al-Arf, and he is a great king. I have not seen among the kings of the earth more than those who come [Page 130]. From the Cairo edition] Messengers from kings came to him from him, and he moves a lot and is easy to reach. Everyone is gentle in coming down to him, but when he gets angry, nothing arises from his anger. God gave him as much strength as he wished, and I saw in its sea a king resistant to fever, called the swimmer. He has little company with whomever he intends to. He does not have that attention to anyone except that it is with what comes to him and not with what he wants.
