And cold, and humidity, and dryness, for dryness is passive to heat, and moisture is passive to cold, so heat is from the mind, and mind is from life, and therefore the nature of life in elemental bodies. Heat and cold are from the soul, and the soul is from knowledge, and for this reason knowledge is described when it settles with the cold of certainty and with snow, and from his saying, may God bless him and grant him peace, when he found the coldness of his fingertips between his breasts. So he knew the knowledge of the firsts and the lasts, and when dryness and moisture were disturbed by heat and cold, will sought dryness because it is in its rank, and power sought moisture because it is in its rank, and since power has nothing to do except with creation in particular, the nature of life, which is heat and moisture in bodies, was more deserving of it, and the forms and forms appeared in aerosol and the whole body, so they appeared.
