Know, may God help you, that those who recite Tahajjud do not have a special, divine name that gives them Tahajjud and makes them stay in it, just as someone who stands up all night long has a divine name that calls him to it and moves him. Tahajjud refers to one who gets up and sleeps and gets up and sleeps and gets up. So whoever does not spend the night in prayer with his Lord is not like that. Where this circumference takes place, the secrets of the highest and lowest worlds and the names that indicate actions and exaltation are revealed, which is the Almighty’s saying, “and the leg is turned around with the leg,” meaning the matter of this world has come together with the matter of the Hereafter, and there is nothing but this world and the hereafter, and it is the praised station that is produced by Tahajjud.
