Whoever sees that it is not obligatory for washing, sees the soul’s restlessness towards the reasons, that he does not attain the position of relying on God immediately with the presence of seeing the reasons, and everyone who says that it is not obligatory deems it desirable to include it in washing. Likewise, seeing the reasons is desirable for everyone. Even if their rulings differ regarding it, God has linked wisdom to its existence.

Sharia scholars agreed that wiping it is one of the obligations of ablution, and they differed in the required amount of it. Some say that it is obligatory to wipe it all, and those who say that it is obligatory to wipe some of it. They differed in the limit for some, so those who say that a third is obligatory, and those who say that two-thirds are obligatory, and who say a quarter, and who say that there is no limit for some, and some of these spoke. Regarding the limit of the amount with which one can wipe from the hand, there is someone who says that wiping it with less than three fingers is not permissible, and there is someone who says that there is no limit for some, neither in what is wiped nor in what is wiped with. As for the ruling on wiping the head internally, it is taken into account that the head has leadership, which is height and elevation, and from it is the leader of the people, that is, their master, who has leadership over them. And since the highest part of the body is in the outward part of the eye, and all the body is below it, it is called a head, since the leader is above the person in rank, and he has a side above. God described Himself as superiority due to its honor. He Almighty said, “They fear their Lord who is above them.” And He said, “And He is the Omnipotent, above His servants,” so the head was the closest part of the body to the truth due to the occasion of superiority .

Then he has another honor in the sense in which he heads over all parts of the body, which is that he is a comprehensive place that carries all the faculties, all of them tangible and rational and moral. Since he also has this headship in this respect, he is called the head. Then the mind, which God has made the most honorable thing in man, makes its place the highest. What is in the head, which is the fontanel, so he made it one of the following, the upper side.

Since the head is the seat of all powers, both apparent and hidden, and each power has rule, authority, and pride, this gives it pride over others, like the restriction of kingship to all the floors of the market, and God made the places of these powers in the head different, until it permeated the entire head, its top, middle, front, and back, and every power, as we mentioned, has glory. And authority and pride in itself and leadership, so it is necessary to wipe it all, and this is the consideration of those who say that it is necessary to wipe the entire head for this leadership that is prevalent in it in its entirety, in terms of his carrying these different powers in it with humility and persuasion for God, so each power, if the wiping is widespread, has a specific wiping for the occasion of its claim, so he deters it with what is specific to it from the wiping, so it is general. Then our companions differed regarding some of this. Each scholar said, according to what God has given him of understanding the ranks of these powers, it is according to what he sees and considers.
