Do you not see what God Almighty said to His Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, who is not in the business of being defeated, nor is it in the business of the prophets, peace be upon him, to be defeated or to be killed in the ranks of: “If you had looked at them, you would have fled from them and been filled with terror from them,” so he described it as defeat and his saying is true. Do you not see that about his vision? Their bodies are not people like him. He is only defeated by something that wants to kill him, and he is not filled with fear and zeal except by something that terrifies him. If he had not seen among them what was more terrifying than what he saw on the night of his Israa, he would not have been filled with terror from what he saw.
