He described the lover as being afraid of abandoning what is sacred in performing service.

The matter gives that the commander is the same as the commanded and the lover is the same as the beloved, except that the apparent appears according to what the reality of the appearance gives it, and with appearances the diversities appear in the apparent, and the rulings and names differ, and by them the obedient and the disobedient are revealed.
