Al-Tirmidhi mentioned on the authority of Anas bin Malik, who said that the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said that charity extinguishes the wrath of the Lord and wards off a bad death.
It is a good and strange hadith, so this is from the hadith. Charity is the payment and extinguishment of the fire of anger, for God will be angry on the Day of Resurrection with an anger that He has never been angry with before, nor will He be angry with after Him in the manner that befits His majesty. The anger with which He addressed us is known without a doubt, but its attribution to God is unknown. Not that the anger is unknown or interpreted according to what it produces in the angry person or carried.
