[ The difference in the permissibility of wiping over torn socks ]
(Check the original text in Arabic ...)

Those who say that wiping is permissible are unanimously agreed on the permissibility of wiping over proper socks, and they differed regarding the breach. Some say that it is permissible if the breach is slight without a limit, some say that the light breach is limited to three fingers, and some say it is permissible as long as the name of the sock is given to it, even if its hole is large, which is more correct in my opinion. Someone says that it is forbidden to wipe if the breach is in the front of the socks, even if it is minor. What I say is that this issue has no basis and no text about it in the Book or the Sunnah, so it would be better to neglect it and not to work with it, and that is the right thing to do, since there has been some disagreement about it among Sharia scholars. We are in need of talking about it, and the truth about that with us is only with those who said it is permissible as long as it is called “khof”
