There is no doubt that the servant is obligated to see his shortcomings in obedience to his Lord, for he himself falls short of what is due to the majesty of his Lord, such as glorification, so it is a divine warning that the servant must purify his heart, since it was the garment of his Lord that expanded it in

His saying, “My servant’s heart encompasses me.”

Such a garment is the one that is commanded to be purified in this situation. Then the knower saw that purifying his heart in order to commune with his Lord, if he purified it by himself and not by his Lord, added defilement to his defilement, like someone who removes impurity from his garment with his urine because it is fluid, and that the purification required here is only disavowal.
