You give Him all the names. God Almighty said, “Say, ‘Call upon God’ or ‘Call upon the Most Merciful.’ Whichever you call upon, to Him belong the most beautiful names. Likewise, if every name was mentioned, He would say in it that He has the most beautiful names, and that is due to the oneness of what is called. So know that. For among people are those to whom the name God is specific, so his knowledge is divine, and among them are those to whom the name is specific to the Most Merciful. So his knowledge is merciful, just as it was regarding the cosmic forces. This person’s knowledge is said to be theoretical, and in another sense, it is auditory. He is from the world of sight, the world of hearing, and the world of breaths. Thus, his knowledge of the divine is attributed to the divine name that was revealed to him in it, so the truths of all names are included in it. [ The Compassionate Knowledge and the Abode of Breaths ] So if you know this also, know that the one who specializes in this chapter is among the divine names of this particular person, the Most Gracious Name. And the one who is specific to him from the strong, and attributes to it the power of smell and what is related to smells, which are the breaths, is from the world of breaths in the attribution of the strong, and from the Rahmanis in the ranks of names, so we say that this particular person in this matter, whether he is Zayd or Amr, his knowledge is merciful, so every matter is attributed to the Most Gracious Name [Page 215 From the Cairo edition] in a book or a Sunnah, it is attributed to this person, as this name is
