He was glorified by his spirituality in terms of his observations and thoughts, along with the corresponding level and minutes, and he had miracles of the secrets of reviving the dead, and among what God bestowed upon him was that he never entered a place that was barren except that God created in it fertility and blessing, as we have narrated on the authority of the Messenger of God. May God’s prayers and peace be upon him regarding Khidr, may God be pleased with him. He was asked about his name, Khidr. He said, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, that he never sat on a fur except that it shook green beneath him.

[ Self-knowledge and the science of power ]

This imam had a great student in self-knowledge and the knowledge of power, and he used to be kind to his companions in admonishing him and concealed that from most of his companions out of fear for him from them, and for this reason he was called the Healer of the Wretched, just as Yaqub Yusuf, peace be upon them both, kept secret, out of concern for him from his brothers, and he occupied most of his companions with the knowledge of management. And something similar to this art is the installation of souls in bodies, the analysis of bodies, and their composition by taking off an image from them or removing an image from them, so that they can understand from this the work of God, the All-Knowing, the Wise. And from this pole came the knowledge of the world and His being a great human being, and that the human being is short in crime and identical in meaning, so inform me of the spirit that you took.
