Sight did not perceive anything, so God made this imagination a light by which it perceives the representation of everything, whatever matter it is, as we have mentioned. Its light penetrates pure nothingness and depicts it into existence. Imagination has more right to the name of light than all the creatures described as light. Its light does not resemble lights, and through it manifestations are perceived, and it is the light of the essence of imagination, not light. The eye of sense, so understand, for it is of benefit to you to know that it is light, so you can learn to be aware of it from someone who does not know that, and he is the one who says, “This is corrupt imagination.” This is because this speaker does not know the perception of the imaginary light that God Almighty has given him. Also, this speaker makes sense wrong in some of his perceptions, and its perception is correct, and the judgment is for someone else, not for him, so the judge is wrong. Nor is sense, nor is imagination. It perceives with its light what it perceives, and it has no judgment. Rather, judgment belongs to someone else, which is the mind. Error cannot be attributed to it, for it is never a corrupt imagination, rather it is entirely correct.
