And know, may God help you, that the matter indicates that if it were not for light, nothing would have been perceived, neither known nor perceptible nor impossible at all. And the names given to the powers differ regarding light. For the common people, they are names for the powers, and among those who know them are names for the light perceived by it. So if the audible things are perceived, that light is called hearing. And if You perceive visible things, you call that light sight, and if you perceive tangible things, you call that which is perceived by touch, and so do the imaginative things, for it is the touching force, and there is no other than it, the sense of sight, the taster, the imaginer, the preserver, and the rational.
