So prophecy has not been completely exalted, and that is why we said that the prophecy of legislation has only been exalted. This is the meaning of “there is no prophet after him.” Likewise, whoever memorizes the Qur’an, prophecy has been included between its two sides, then prophecy has undoubtedly been established by him. So we know that his saying “there is no prophet after him,” meaning “no lawgiver,” specifically not that there will be no prophet after him. Such as his saying: If Chosroes dies, then there will be no Chosroes after him, and if Caesar dies, then there will be no Caesar after him. Chosroes and Caesar were only the kings of the Romans and the Persians, and the king was still of the Romans, but this name rose with the presence of kingship among them, and their kingship was called by another name after the death of Caesar and Chosroes.
