Al-Tirmidhi narrated on the authority of Abu Dharr, who said, “We fasted with the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and he did not stand for us until a seventh of the month remained, so he stayed with us until a third of the night had passed, then he did not stand for us on the sixth, and he stayed with us on the fifth until half of the night had passed.” The night, so we said to him, O Messenger of God, if we could escape for the rest of our night, he said, “Whoever stands with the imam until he leaves, it will be written for him to have spent the night praying.” Then he did not lead us in prayer until three days of the month remained, and he prayed with us on the third, and he called his family and wives and led us until we feared that he would miss Al-Fallah.
