And when he, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: The fasting person has broken his fast, so it is better for the fasting person to hasten the breaking of his fast at sunset after the Maghrib prayer, for it is more appropriate because God has made Maghrib the odd part of the daytime prayer, so he should perform it in the manner he did during the day, which is abstaining from food and drink, and it is recommended for him if he has finished the obligatory prayer. To begin breaking the fast, even if it is with a drink of water or dates before the voluntary prayer, for the one who does that is still fine.
