So he said to him, “Emancipate,” then he said to him, “fast,” then he said to him, “feed.” It is not known whether he, peace be upon him, intended the order or not, so it was said that it is in order, the first of which is emancipation, and if he does not find it, then fasting, and if he is not able to do so, then feeding. It was said that it is based on the choice, and some of them recommended feeding. More than emancipation and fasting, and it is imagined here that some of these categories are preferred over others depending on the condition of the person obligated or the intent of the law .
