God Almighty said: You will not attain righteousness until you spend from what you love. Abdullah bin Omar used to buy sugar and give it in charity and say, “I love it” in accordance with this verse, and I love what a person himself has. If you spend it for the sake of God, he will thereby obtain what is in its balance. For whoever consumes something, it is upon him to value it and the right. The soul of this servant has been exhausted, for he has commanded you to spend what you love, and it has no value to him except Paradise. Therefore, if we do not find anything, you will find God, for He does not exist except in the absence of the things that He relies on. The human soul is the essence of all things, and it has perished, so its value is what we mentioned. So look at the virtue of charity, which is mentioned above.
