And know that since the meaning of zakat is purification, as God Almighty said, “You purify them and purify them with it,” it had among the divine names the Holy Name, which is the Pure, and what it means of the divine names. And since the money that is given in charity was not from the total wealth of the recipient of zakat, and he had it in his hand as a trust for his companions, he did not deserve it. Other than its owner, even if it is with this other person, but it is with him in trust until he delivers it to its family. Likewise with the zakat of souls, souls have attributes that deserve them, and they are every attribute that the possible deserves. A person may be described with attributes that the possible does not deserve in terms of what is possible, but God deserves those attributes if he describes with it in order to distinguish it from His attributes that He deserves, just as the Truth, Glory be to Him, described Himself as what is true for the Possible, as a revelati
