On the authority of Al-Shibli, he used to take it and return it during the times of prayers, and when he finished praying, the wala would take it. Al-Junaid said when it was said to him about him: Praise be to God, who has not committed a tongue of sin. It is possible that Al-Shibli was praying with it at that time and he was not aware of it, and the people present ruled that he would be rejected. When they saw him performing the prayer as we agreed, they said in the apparent form of him, but in the same matter he has no knowledge, and among them are those who deny it, and our talk is only about someone who took it for himself at the time of performing what was apparently obligatory for him, and as for other than that time, what is our issue?
