Then he said, “Hanif,” meaning inclining, and the Hanif, “inclining,” says, “inclining toward the side of truth, from my ability to the necessity of my existence in my Lord, so it is permissible for me to abstain from nothingness, so I remain in pure goodness.” This is the meaning of his saying, “Hanif.” Then he said, “And I am not of the polytheists in this inclination.” He says, “I am not inclined to my command, as the servant said.” The righteous and what I did on my command, but the truth taught me how to turn to Him and what to turn to and from what I turn to and in what state I am in turning to Him. All of this must be known by the scholars of God in guidance, and if they are not of this ideal then they are not worthy of guidance, and if they come with this wording, then he denied it.
