The third of the agreed-upon impurities is the blood itself from a wild animal if it is separated from a living or dead animal and it is in large quantities, I mean such that it becomes bloated. We have informed you that a wild animal is cursed and exists for itself, what exists in God’s knowledge, like a sea animal, and that its life is in the air, and that blood is the origin. What emerges from its heat is the vapor from which the life of that animal is formed, which is the animal spirit. Since the blood was originally in this impurity, it was more deserving of the impurity than what it generated.
