Menstruation is the attack of the devil, so one must bathe from it. God Almighty said: It is an abomination from the work of Satan, so the heart must be cleansed from the word of Satan if it descends upon it and touches it inside of it, and it is purified with the word of the angel. The white discharge is a sign, or one of some signs, of God’s care for this heart, as He expelled it from it and removed the attack of Satan. So he uses the word of the angel in that case, which is the purification of the heart, and if that is expressed by the two fingers, both of which are a mercy, then he added them to the Most Merciful. If God had not had mercy on his servant with that satanic word, he would not have received the reward for disobeying him by changing from it to acting on the word of the king, for he has two rewards. That is why we said that he added them to the name of the Most Merciful.
