The Commander of the Faithful, Abu Jaafar Al-Mansur, made a pilgrimage. While he was walking around the House at night, he heard someone saying, “O God, we complain to You of the appearance of transgression and corruption on earth and the greed that comes between the truth and its people.” Al-Mansour came out and sat on one side of the mosque, then he sent for the man and he prayed two rak’ahs. Then he received the pillar and went with the Messenger and greeted him with the caliphate. Al-Mansour said to him, “What did I hear you mention?” He said, “If you trust me, O Commander of the Faithful, I will inform you of the matters from their origins. Otherwise, I will confine myself to myself, for I have a preoccupation with them.” He said, “You are safe with yourself.” He said, “O Commander of the Faithful, God has taken care of you regarding the affairs of His servants and their money.” So I made Between you and their house was a veil of plaster and brick, iron doors, and guards
