Do not keep in love with someone who does not love you except someone who is infallible and is your companion and agrees with you in what he loves and disagrees with you in what he hates. He is only following his desires, and whoever is accompanied by his desires is only seeking the comfort of this world. O community of disciples, whoever of you wants the path, let the scholars be treated as ignorant and ascetic. With desire and knowledgeable people to remain silent, and my Sheikh, may God have mercy on him, advised me the first time I entered him before I saw his face. He said to me, and I said to him, “Advise me before you see me, so keep your commandment from yourself, and do not look at me until you see that I have removed you from me.” So he, may God be pleased with him, said, “This is a noble and high determination, my son.
