As for his saying, “pious,” it is lawful, meaning shortening the garment to half. The one who is righteous and pious is the one for whom the law has given him protection and protection from what harms him from the devils of mankind and jinn. And God does not look at the one who drags his garment out of arrogance. And beware of asking people in abundance, and you have what will enrich you in the event that you are asked, for the matter is scratches or scratches on your face on the Day of Resurrection, so if you are forced and are not able to do a job. So ask your strength and do not go beyond it if God does not grant you certainty a
