To the people of tahlil from Chapter 439, he said, when the contexts of tahlil varied, the rule of interpretation appeared. For every tahlil there is a state, a language, men, and a position. And he said, “Tahlil is your saying, ‘There is no god but God,’” so I denied it. He affirmed it. He said, “If you examine and verify what you denied, then it is only the essence of what is proven, even if not. God rewards the intention for what it does.” The reward for praising God is great, and he said, the evidence for what we went to is his saying, “And your Lord has decreed that you should not worship anyone but Him.” So see if they worshiped anything except after they attributed divinity to Him. So they worshiped nothing but God, not those entities. The proof is His saying, “Say,” name them, which is all knowledge.
